ILR Query- when to apply

Hi,

I came to this country on 10/12/2000 on business Visa a Company offered me a job and applied for the workpermit. Work Permit was granted on 23/02/2001 but my passport was stamped on 29/03/2001 as this was an incountry WP which date should i consider as the starting point for my ILR 10/12/2000 or 23/02/2001 or 29/03/2001

i would be ver thankfull in someone can guide me on this situation as i am about to complete 4 yrs.

Time spent on a business visa will not count towards your PR. Also its the date on which your passport was stamped that is taken into account and not when the work permit is issued to your employer.

Therefore I would say 29/03/2001

Well this is confusing to every one.
When you call homeoffice for appointment they are not asking for passport stamp date in fact they are asking for WP start date.
If you can prove that you are working from WP start date and you are in the country from start date of WP then the clock starts from WP date not passport.

I might just win a month or two here......
My company go the WP letter on the 30 Sept 2002, I got the Entry Clearance on the 7 Oct 2002 and the immigration official in heatrow stamped the entry clearance on the 7 November 2002.

So, my 4 years for ILR are from the Entry clearance doc, 7 Oct 2002? or the stamp by immigration officer 7 Nov 2002?

it should be the date you either entered the UK (that is for those who came in with the Entry Clearance already) or the Date that they stamped your LTR for in country applicants
