Haven't seen September thread yet, so appologise for posting here beforehand...

Eligibility criteria: 3 years, including 1 year ILR, spouse of BC
Language criteria met: Bachelors + MBA from United States (original degree certificates, transcripts) + Points calc printout confirming points earned for both
Method of application: NCS
Council name if NCS used: Islington
Date of application: 01/09/2014
Payment method: Credit card
Date of receipt by UKBA: 02/09/2014 (DX Group)
Date of acknowledgment: TBA
Date of debit or clearance of fees: TBA
Date approval received: TBA
Date of ceremony: TBA

Application was submitted in Islington through NCS. The person checking the docs said that my application was very straightforward, however due to staffing deficiencies I should expect it to take 4 months as best case scenario as there is now a huge backlog of citizenship applications (since everyone in HO was moved to Passports). He said not to get any hopes up as it will most likely be January before I hear anything. So patience is a key thing now, I guess... I will provide timeline updates once things start moving.

A LETTER TODAY FROM HOME OFFICE SAYING THAT MY FEE PAYMENT BEEN DECLINED BY MY CREDIT CARD AND SENT ME ANOTHER FORM TO FILL OUT AND RETURN TO THEM.

I PHONED THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND THEY SAID REASON FOR DECLINE WAS THAT "THE HOME OFFICE STAFF HAS KEYED THE WRONG EXPIRY DATE OF MY CARD AND ITS BEEN DECLINED" AS I LOOKED AT THE COPIES OF FORM WHICH I SENT AND ALL MINUTES WERE CORRECT!!!!

I AM WONDERING IS THERE ANY PERSON THAT I COULD TALK AND SEE WHICH STAFF MAKE SUCH A WASTEFUL AND PATHETIC JOB WHICH INCURRED IN SO MUCH WASTE OF TIME!!!

TAHNKS.
Hi jacki121, I have got the exact same problem. I applied on 20th via NCS, and I called them up today and I was told that the payment was declined because of incorrect expiry date.

I haven't got a letter yet, so could you let me know, which address should I send the payment form to. Anything else needed from my side, apart from a new payment form?

The nice lady helping me out at the NCS informed me that due to the ongoing passport backlog at the UKBA this summer, they have now moved most of the staff who used to process Naturalisation applications to help out with the passport backlog.

Therefore, she said I should expect it will definitely take the full 6 months to process this application even though it is straightforward because they have much less staff working on these applications now than they did earlier in the year. So don't worry if you don't get it sorted out in 3 months guys :?

Hi I moved house after applying for naturalisation , Can anyone in the forum can tell me how to contact (on which number) home office to communicate my new address for further communications by home office?

When I was googling for the same I found below link but it says it is trail version so I am not sure whether my new address has been registered with the home office or not.

I did not have UKNARIC certificate. All they asked me was to get Points based calculator final pdf showing UK English assessment. It will contain some 7 pages to show your each section qualification in the PBS assessment. NCS checked with UKBA directly and confirmed this is sufficient. They were kind enough to give time for me to get it and then finished the application process.

So better book early for that days appointment. Good Luck

I think the only contact as below:

british-citizenship/general-discussion-during-naturalisation-application-process-t136027-460.html?hilit=citizenship%20contact#p1073121

Citizenship and nationality enquiries
ukbanationalityenquiries@ukba.gsi.gov.uk
Telephone: 0300 123 2253
Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5pm
Friday, 9am to 4:30pm

Also I would advise the following:

1) Write a letter to home office about change of your address, moving date, name, DOB, Application reference as received in acknowledgment etc, and dicuss with your NCS to send the HO
2) Set up a mail redirection service wih royal mail ( If you have not changed the address of your credit card - as they need billing address of credit card same as old house).

today i received my document back as i asked for it 2 weeks ago, there is a letter came with it too which saying:((( once we start working on ur application we may ask to post it again to us,but dont send it now unless we write to u and ask for it)))....the thing really p***** me off is clearly they say almost after a month from receiving ur application we didnt do noting mean not even CRB check.im so upset from the moment i reed the letter.....NOTING.....honestly whats going on there?????????????????I know they said 6 months or even more wait, with that knowledge i applied and i cant complain if didnt got the result unless the 6 months pass, but i thought they start working on the case at least from the date they debited the money, now i can see NOOOOOO that was just a illusion and mirage in my mind...we paid £906 and now bcz of cutting the number of staff in passport office went down the line ans count as ohhh they have to wait even longer...honestly what this Tory gov does???iI cant wait for good guys(labours) back in No10.. now they have to pay more for over time to those lucky who still got the job than to the 200 officers they fired, they paid up to £5000 on top of the normal salary to some of the civil servant, making the UKBA front line weak bcz when they showed and offered such a attractive package in return for theyre help over backlog of course most of the staff in ukba goes for it.on top of that now is a chaos over ukvi not just in citizenship department, its all over the department...thats why i was and am Labor supporter, bcz they look after everyone and not just rich and wealthy which Tory famous for it...sorry i wrote a lot

UPDATE:

Naturalisation Application August 2014 Timeline

Eligibility criteria: 5 Yrs Tier 1 + 6 months ILR (Spouse BC)
Applicant: Self
Current nationality: New Zealand
Method of application: NCS (Ampthill, Beds)
Date of application by NCS / Post: 18.08.14
Date of receipt by UKBA: 21.08.14
Payment method CC/DC, Personal cheque, Bankers cheque etc: Cheque
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 02.09.14
Date of acknowledgment: 27.08.14 on the letter, letter received on 08.09.14
Date approval received: Waiting
Date of ceremony: Waiting

I enquired with Bedfordshire City Council about my application as my money didn't get withdrawn for ages and I didn't get the acknowledgement letter in 2 weeks time frame. The council stated that there was no delay from their side.

When I finally received the letter from Home Office on Monday 08.09.14, it was dated 27.08.14. Maybe the letter was posted 8-10 days late?

dks100 could you kindly update the dash with this info.

Kind regards, kiwi-in-uk

Dashboard Update

Note:
Please note that the expected date calculation in the following dashboard is estimated and indicative based on average number of workdays to get approval from the various postings in this forum specially May 14 timeline. These dates purely estimated and calculated based on average 65 work days and these dates has nothing to do with actual processing time.
There are numerous cases where people have got approvals much early or even very late in the past. Therefore, please do not consider these date as definitive or firm or any official figures.

Hi, can I ask a question on behalf of my friend, who had her ILR 3 years ago now applied for naturalisation under AN (6) in August 2014. Question is, at the time of her ILR application she didn't do the biometrics and her residency was stamped on her passport, when she applied for naturalisation in August, she wasn't asked if she biometrics done or not, neither she received any letter from home office to request this. She received letter of acknowledgement and payment. This issue came up when talking about my ILR application recently and told her I had to do biometrics and she said she never has done it. Do you think she should contact home office and ask for it or not

Many thanks
