ILR status post Independence Ref

Post by raykau » Tue Sep 02, 2014 2:49 pm

Hello All

I have been trying to find out more information on how the Yes/No decision will affect ILR status. I have tried to search for it but so far have not been able to find any concrete answers.

Anybody knows about this?

Like I have ILR to remain in the "UK"; but I am currently based in Scotland. If YES is the outcome how will my status be affected?

Would be grateful to have your thoughts!

Many Thanks in advance.

Hi Alien.uk.
I think your going to be fine. You were granted ILR before Scotland started this crazy idea for independence.

In case of YES vote Scotland won't be an independent country until 23 March 2016.Everthing will be finalized during that transfer period. Nothing will change overnight on Sep 18th.

Hope that would clarify
