Switch from Tier 4 Dependent to Tier 2 main applicant

Hello All,
I am on student (Tier 4) dependent visa from 2010. My wife is a main applicant. I am working in one logistic company in London and my employer offer me a work permit. My company is a A rated Tier 2 sponsor.

My current visa has been curtailed because our Tier 4 sponsor’s licence has been revoked. We have already got an admission in another Tier 4 sponsor college and applied for extension in Aug-2014 and did our biometric as well, now waiting for the visa.

My question: Can I switch from Tier 4 dependent to Tier 2 main applicant?
Can my wife switch from Tier 4 Main applicant to Tier 2 dependent from inside the UK?
As I said, our application result is pending for Tier 4 extension. Am I eligible to apply for Tier 2 while our decision of Tier 4 is pending? Or do I need to wait for my new visa to come?

I have got this opportunity and I don’t want to loose it. Please help me to clear my confusion and guide me on my new application.

yes, once you have your T2G visa

As I said, our application result is pending for Tier 4 extension. Am I eligible to apply for Tier 2 while our decision of Tier 4 is pending? Or do I need to wait for my new visa to come?
you can only have one application at any one time, however, your prospective sponsor can get on with the RLMT and the application for a restricted CoS once the RLMT has been satisfactorily completed. Remember that the job has to be NQF level 6 with appropriate salary.

Thanks again for your reply but I need some more help from you.

As you said in your previous answer that my employer has to complete the RLMT. Is has been done and my employer is planning to apply for RESTRICTED COS in couple of weeks. But I have a small confusion regarding my new application.

My Tier4 dependent application is still pending and my solicitor told me that I can apply for Tier 2 visa and request UKVI to transfer only my documents from Tier 4 dependent to Tier 2 main applicant application. My wife will join me later once she will get her student visa.

Is that really possible? If yes, I would be grateful if you provide me some link which show the rule in the guideline please. It will be helpful in my Tier 2 application.

An application can be varied before a decision is made on it. See p35:
