Naturalisation - Period of Absence

Post by abmnerang » Tue Sep 16, 2014 10:40 pm

Hi,

I have become British Citizen and would like to apply Naturalisation for my wife based on spouse of a British Citizen.

We got ILR on 11th Feb 2013.

She is absent for 240 days (from 15th June 2013 till 10th feb 2014) , as this is more than 90 days in the last one year before making the application, she will become eligible to apply on 11th Nov 2014.

My question is when they say 3 year qualifying period before the date of making the application, does it mean 3 years before 11th nov 2014, or 3 years before ILR received date?

Please advise.

Last 3 years from the moment you submit application for naturalisation.

Don't forget that your wife needs to have been present in the UK on the day 3 years ago the same day as when applying.
