I applied for naturalisation which was received on the 16/05/2014 and my query relates to the amount of time taken to process an application. I had a driving conviction back in 2008 which is spent but declared this on the application form. Would this delay the application? It has also been 16 weeks and advised it can take 2 to 6 month for an answer, is this right? Little concerned as I have not heard anything, any help relating to this would be appreciated.
Called the Home Office today to find out the status of the application and was told that the application is still on-going.
Calculated that it has been 82 working days today and in total 117 days. Understand that it can take upto six months but this must be in special circumstances.
I have been reading a few posts where the application is acknowleged on the same date as mine and they have received approval. Stating to get a little annoyed as it has almost been four months. I am hoping that I shall have an answer in the next few weeks.
Is anyone else in a similar situation?
