Unable to return to UK EEA 2 to citizenship

HI all my EEA 2 visa expired in may 2014, I have applied for naturalization direct as my wife has become British Citizen. I have submitted the application via NCS Newbury and I am currently awaiting for the approval. Received the acknowledgement from home office.

In the mean time I have travelled to India due to my elderly parents support for a week, when I tried to return to UK I was denied boarding in India as they say I do not have valid visa for UK. Tried to explain the EEA 2 visa leads to PR and also showed the Acknowledgement from Home office regarding the naturalization application. but the airline is asking for a letter from embassy.

Now I am stuck in India with my wife and kids back in UK leaving us in a desperate situation please help. Any suggestions i would be grateful.

I do not have ILR in my passport as I have straight applied for my naturalization after completing eea 2 visa and the fact my wife is British.

With all due respect, why did you expect? You don't have a valid visa. The airline is not expected to be an immigration expert.

Contact the British embassy and apply for a visa or get a letter from them confirming your status.

Try to explain the matter and ask for either EEA Family Permit o or a visit visa (if they agree to that as you are not a visitor).

Hi,
I am not sure you can directly go to UK consulate in Chennai. The visa services are done through VFS. Please check with them before you go. Tell them you are in emergency so how to proceed further.

Thanks all. The real issue was not UK but Indian Immigration not allowing me to exit country with out valid visa (expired EEA 2)Manage to speak and convince Bureau of Immigration chennai India and was allowed to travel so could travel back to UK. Had no issues in heathrow T4 on arrival.
