Cohab Documantation for SET (O) via Tier 2 Route

Post by hardik.solanki » Fri Sep 12, 2014 4:50 pm

Dear Members,
I am on Tier-2 Visa since Oct 2009...
My Wife joined me in July 2011 on Tier-2 Dependent VISA...
I have managed to gather most of the documents except Documentary proofs of Cohabitation...
As I understand from existing posts of other members; I need to provide total of 6 proofs from 3 different sources...

However the properties I have lived in for last 2 years was rented property and always included all bills in the rent; so I do not have any bills, council tax etc...

I can produce below documents:

1 Tenancy agreements - from 3 properties
2 2 years HSBC Bank Statement from joint account
3 2 years Barclays Bank Statement
3 2 years Barclays Bank Statement
4 2 years payslips 2 years payslips
5 NHS Registration letter (Most Recent) - Main Applicant
5 NHS Registration letter (Most Recent) - Dependent
6 2 years Print-outs of Mobile Bill - Main Applicant
6 2 years Print-outs of Mobile Bill - Main Applicant

Will these documents be enough?
Also I only have printed copies of below... Will that be OK?
My employer moved to e-payslips since april -2013 so I can only produce printed copies...
Mobile bills are also printed copies only - sent via email by network provided
My Wife's Bank statements are also downloaded from Online banking site

your expert advise is very much appreciated...

proof of cohabitation ideally spread over the 2 years, either in joint names or in each name. One joint letter (or one letter in each name) over a 4 month period from 3 different sources spread over the 2 years is the minimum requirement.

Online bank statements need to be stamped by the bank and payslips need to be stamped by employer and order historic/duplicate paper based bills/ statements as soon as possible.

Hey, I was in same boat. I came to UK on Tier 2 in Oct 2009 and wife later joined. However, my wife didn't work at all and therefore I didn't consider a need to include her name on anything. So, my cohabitation documentation was not up to par.
Here is what I would suggest.
1-Look at Set M (https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... _06-14.pdf) for type of documentation required.
2- I submitted a cover letter explaining the situation and mainly attached two things a) letter from council stating that she was registered B) letter from GP showing registered addresses. I had good cohab documentation for one year. They didn't pay much attention to this and my ILR was approved.

Hi All,

After reading this thread and the replies, I'm a bit confused and wanted to clarify one thing. My understanding was that a PBS dependant when applying for ILR would need to complete the form SET(O) and NOT the form SET(M)? unless the dependant in the past has used the form FLR to extend the leave at any point.

So if this is correct then in the SET(O), the is no section/info on the COHABITATION documentation or types of documents for this purpose, how is that dealt with in that case?

Can someone clarify please? Moderators, senior members @Amber, @Obie

Thanks
