I conversate with the immigration official at the kiosk where Certificate of Naturalisation was being handed to fellow citizens. She said since the backlogs has now been totally cleared,They aren't receiving application at the same pace as of last year, and I asked if that would mean fewer ceremonies, she said on the contrary, the minister would still continue at the same pace of 80-90 days that's just over 2 months.Instead of 3 ceremonies a day,it might reduce to 2 or 1. So,be expecting next ceremony in early December.

Called this morning to check status of application and was told that new garda vetting reports just arrived this morning and will need to attach them to individuals files and that hopefully mine is among them so it can be submitted to the minister for a decision and that is if they don't find anything wrong with the reports. She did go on to explain that they had been buzy with preparation for ceremony and only back to fully start sorting Garda reports out and that I shld check back by the first week in October or end month. These could also mean there may be another roll out of approvals at that time as long as the Garda reports are without any problems

Applied in 2011. Had a delay cos of traffic offence in which case was dismissed in court. Just verifying docs I sent to them from court to prove case dismissal. Am hoping for a positive outcome. Once verification is confirmed a decision will be made in my case. Just hoping my file is among the new vending report that just came in

he got first acknowledgment (to which he assumed that means calculation and documents checklist are complete) and then after 45 days they sent him this random letter wishing him best in his new application!!! when he got the brown envelope, he was excited as to think its 2nd acknowledgment letter.. according to what he said: when he read it, it felt like a letter form GP saying he got AIDS! he got so light headed!

in common sense, and if I assumed the legislation in place (which says 60 months, not 1827 days and god knows how much hours and minutes and seconds too) is a bible, then I would resort to the fact of application arriving to their office 2 days later, so that makes it full and 1 day ahead too! - they took the date of signature of the solicitor as the date of submission..

hes so frustrated now, and does not want to apply again.. I'm out of advice to what he should do here.. maybe someone here had similar experience as to what should say/do?

yes thats correct, they accept the application day as the day that the papers approved by solicitor etc.
and this legislation or whatever called says that it has to be 5 years, not one less, therefore they are strict about this number.

your friend has to apply again.

yeah seems so.. maybe he needs the courage now to repeat the whole process.

the strange thing is that he received the first acknowledgment which I (maybe everybody else here?) thought that it passed (at least the mandatory application checks).. usually the application get rejection letter immediately if something obvious was there / caught on the spot

yeah that's pity, i can understand the frustration.

it depends on the first letter. most of the time they just create an application ref number and send applicant a letter saying that "we received but havent fully examined it yet."

so, people better leave couple of extra days after fulfilling 5 years

A friend got his application back stating that you do not meet the requirements as you were not in Ireland for a continuous period of one year from the date of application.

Comon people dont get dishearten. Do apply again!

@okiedokie was that after first acknowledgment or what stage?

Ps my friend did not get back any document.. only a letter full of bla bla bla, then last line saying oops your application can not be accepted (a nice way of saying rejected) and "its open to you if you want to re-apply".

@banana07 I am not sure as I did not speak to him directly. I think it was a similar as you stated a long story.

I think this is all happening because of the recent changes. Earlier it was not a requirement to stay in Ireland for a continuous period of one year. Also there were no details required for applicants absence for a period of more than 6 weeks...

@banana07, its sorry to hear what happened, but I have to say, its your friend's fault getting form signed early. Everyone should understand this, you only sign the application form on the day or any day after you complete your 5 years residency period.
likewise, recently, I applied Irish Passport after naturilsation. we are going on holidays soon so thought of getting signed the application form before 22nd sep i.e. on 20 Sep, then realized, I must sign and declare that I am an Irish Citizen, hence applying for Irish Passport, but I was not Irish citizen before 22nd sep.So all ppl should read the application forms carefully before signing it

Donot think they will be able to schedule one in December except they need money for christmas light. It all speculations nothing confirm yet untill inis put it on website. Let keep waiting.
