spouse cant prove she has money

Post by niksinif » Tue Aug 21, 2007 1:21 pm

Hi. I am getting married to my girlfriend who is a UK citizen, but she doesn't make a lot of money, and can't prove she can support me. Does anyone have any advice for this sort of situation?

If you are applying for spouse visa my not budget for your income too in your evidence folder. You can work on spouse visa. Obviously if it a fiance visa u can't.

Otherwise wait until she can support you. If she can't, she can't. Simpe as.

Let's turn this the other way round, what do you do for a living? Can you prove you can support HER? Or perhaps you can prove that you don't need any supporting and can financially take care of yourself.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

Plus it would help to know what nationality you are, if you are already in the UK or Europe on another visa basis.

If you can prove that you can support yourself without recourse to public (essentially government) funds then your application for a spouse visa should be absolutely fine.
