I have exactly 75 points for HSMP, will I get it?

Post by SnivellingSnape » Tue Aug 21, 2007 5:33 pm

Hello all

I have exactly 75 points, 50 points for a phd, 5 points for obtaining phd in the uk, and 20 points for being under 28.

To do this, I have to apply in less than 1 month.

Would it be ok to apply for the HSMP or better to apply for the IGS?

I was wondering how high the rejection number for HSMP is.

Thank you for all your advice.

if it makes you feel any better my hsmp app got approved w/exactly 75 points - although the point distribution in my case was different than yours. i also tried to find out whether "the more points the better" by calling them, but they didn't seem to care one way or the other as long as you have the minimum 75 points. apparantly they treat all apps on par w/each other, as long as they meet the minimum 75 points requirement (i specifically asked them on phone whether a 90 point app has better chances to get approved than a 75 point app - they said no. called multiple times w/the same question each time w/a different person just to make sure they weren't bluffing - unless they all were bluffing :P)

just be sure that they don't get a reason to reject any evidence you provide to claim the points. other than that, go for it. good luck!

note: above stands true as of february this yr, which is when i applied for hsmp.

Hi there....

I have claimed just 75 points and I have got mine approved.

I think there is nothing to be worried abt.

If you have a good evidence to back up ur claim you should get it.

all the best

cheers,

SnivellingSnape,

Phd : 50
UK exp: 5
Age: 20 (have 1 month for your nex B'day so Apply soon ...............)

Satisfy English Language Requirement...
- Have valid IELTS with Band 6 or more score
- Have studied your Degree (NOT Masters only Under graduate) in English Medium of instruction (Need to get a letter from the Awarding Institute) .

If you can supply all orginal documents to the HO then you get HSMP Approval easily.
Their is nothing like if you have 75 points they will reject your App, I dont know what is the source of this worry.

Thanks,
Fareed

As entioned before. Your case is very straight forward.
1. Your PhD from UK, You do not need NARIC.
2. Study in th UK no evidecen needed as they could see from your VISA on passport.
3. Age from Birth certificate (you already have it)

U could even get approcal very quickly.

If you get any comfort by this - I applied with 75 points and got HSMP and later on the EC.

Just ensure that your document are in order and the case is watertight.

all the best.
