City & Guilds Skills for Life Entry 3

Post by ryz777 » Wed Oct 01, 2014 9:58 am

Hi all, My wife is applying for FLR and passed City & Guilds ESOL Skills for Life Entry 3 which is B1 equivelant,

I am aware she only needs to pass A1 equivelant for FLR (M) but will a higher qualification reject our application?

also on the UKBA website it mentions the following,

You can prove your knowledge of English by having an English level B1 qualification that’s one of the following:

1) on the Home Office’s list of recognised English tests and qualifications
2) an ESOL qualification at Entry 3 or higher (eg Level 1 or 2) on the Ofqual register taken in England, Wales or Northern Ireland
3) an ESOL qualification at Scottish Qualifications Framework levels 4, 5 or 6 awarded by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and taken in Scotland

our certificate does meet one of the above (2). however it is not on the HO recognised tests and qualifications (1).

can anyone shed some light on this? anyone recently was successful with C&G Skills for life entry 3 for FLR application??

thanks in advance guys..
