Please help **Dependent Tier 1 General visa after April 2015

Hi All,

I am bit worried about the news that the Tier 1 General visa extension will not be permitted after April 2015.

Here is my case:
I (Main Applicant) - Tier 1 General valid till Jan 2016; ILR due in Jan 2016 -- All fine

My wife and son (2 years old) (Dependents) - Tier 1 General Valid till Jan 2016 - Stay in UK by Jan 16 will be 3 years. Hence they cant go for ILR along with me ( 5 years rule).

Please can you help by suggesting what options do I have for my dependents?

Should I extend my and my dependents Tier 1 General in April 2015 and apply for my ILR in Jan 2016 and then go for their ILRs sometime in 2018?

OR

Is there any other option?

It means your wife should apply for extension by 5th April 2015 and ILR before 5 April 2018. If for some reason she does not meet the requirement for ILR by 5th April 2018, then she will not be able to secure ILR.

Thanks for your response. This means that when I apply for my ILR in Jan 2016, my dependants can apply on the same day to extend their T1G Dependant visa as well? If so, how long their visa valid for?

tier-1 main applicant visa grant date: 10-feb-2011
date of entry tier1 main applicant : 6-march-2011
tier-1 dependent visa grant date: 12-march-2013
tier-1 dependent uk entry date: 23-june-2013
visa valid until : 10-feb-2016 (both for dependent and main applicant)

Should i apply for dependent visa extension before april-2015 or can i go for extension on 10-feb-2016 itself along with my husband (main applicant)? i believe main applicant can go for ILR as he would be completing 5 years by feb 2016 but not dependent applicant. please correct if i am wrong
