Good Evening

I am holding my hand on my heart, as I stated on my earlier posts, I have submitted my application on 27 of September, the Home Office received on 29 of September almost seven working days have elapsed since they received my application but up to this day they did not take the money from my debit card, I checked my online statement, nothing has been debited on my account.

Still wondering what is going on, I know its part of the anxiety but really thinking what the hell they are doing, I have checked the average time slot they normally claims and collect the money from the debit cards is eight working days, hopefully they may claim tomorrow.

Hello afaaro, sorry to interrupt you, but you stated here that you only had the ILR for three months if I am not wrong, so you are still in the immigration restriction slot time, to apply british citizenship you should have had the ILR for one year or more than that, I am afraid if your ILR is three months old, they will not accept your applications, and its most likely they will refuse it.

Please go and double check with a legal adviser, according (section 6(2) of the British Nationality Act 1981) it states as followed:

A. If you are married to or the civil partner of a British citizen

(section 6(2) of the British Nationality Act 1981)

The legal requirements you should meet before you apply are that you:
1. Are aged 18 or over when you apply
2. Are married to or the civil partner of a British citizen on the date of application
3. Are of sound mind, so that you understand the step you are taking (but see page
10 for those who are not of sound mind)
4. Can communicate in English (or Welsh or Scottish Gaelic) to an acceptable degree
5. Have sufficient knowledge about life in the UK
6. Are of good character
7. Have lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years before you apply and meet the
ight qualify.
8.You must be free of immigration time restrictions on the date of application
(see the section on Immigration Time R estrictions).

If you meet the standard requirements for naturalisation then you are likely eligible to apply for citizenship. If you are applying through a non-standard channel you should check you are eligible here.

Normally, you are only eligible to apply for British citizenship 12 months after you are granted ILR as this is when you become ‘free from immigration time restrictions’. This extra requirement means that achieving British citizenship takes an extra year compared to ILR.

For people applying as the spouse or partner of someone settled in the UK or a British citizen then you do not need to wait for 12 months after being granted ILR. As long as you have been resident in the UK for at least three years and are free from immigration time restrictions on the date you apply (for instance, you can apply from the date you are granted ILR as this frees you from time restrictions) you qualify for citizenship. Full details of the requirements can be found on the UKBA website. https://www.gov.uk/becoming-a-british-citizen
