Hello Shaheen,

Can you please post an updated sheet.

It's raining approvals with June applications.

(Approvals rate is 70% excluding the approvals posted in the general timeline topic and the one who are too euphoric to look at this forum)

Thank you

Eligibility criteria: Resident Card of a Family Member of EEA National (5 Years and 8 Months in the UK before Application). I didn't have an ILR since my wife is British, as a result, I automatically acquire Permanent Resident after 5 Years of continuous stay in the UK.
Language criteria met: MSc and PhD in the UK +Life in the UK test
Method of application: NCS Edinburgh Council
Date of application: 22/05/2014
Date of receipt by UKBA: 23/05/2014
Date of debit of fees: 28/05/2014 (Not sure)
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 30/05/2014
Date of receipt of approval: Still waiting

Other Development:

At the end of July, I got a new job and by then my Visa has expired. My new employer contacted the Employer Checking Services (ECS) of UK Visas and Immigration for a confirmation of my right to work in the UK while my nationality application was ongoing. The verification came back as positive.

hi all. finally received approval today! my details

Eligibility criteria: child born in the UK parents on ILR
Language criteria met : N/A
Current nationality: Ukrainian
Method of application: NCS
Council name if NCS used: Aylesbury
Date of application: 14-05-2014
Payment method : debit card
Date of receipt by UKBA: 15-05-2014
Date of acknowledgement: 22-05-2014
Date approval received: 08-10-2014

I was actually surprised when it came through as it was different to what I was expecting.
Well envelope was A4 and white and 1st class ( not brown 2nd class). Certificate date was 1st of October and letter dated 6th of October and obviously all received today on the 8th. Finally I have been following this forum for a while and promised myself to stay calm and just wait for 6 month and hope for the best and earlier approval ( why worry about the things that you can't influence right ) however reading all the posts and realising how many approvals were given i couldn't stop myself and have also rung the 0300 number they guy told me " your application is in final stages and you should here within the next few days" i've tried to probe what final stages means but he couldn't provide the details. luckily I have received the approval within the next few days, probably coincidence.

HUGE Thank you to all the members for taking the time to write posts and SPECIAL thank you for the timeline table - incredibly useful. Good luck to all waiting and I hope I will see your posts with approvals over the next few days..
ps.. the person who applied on 27th of May made me smile all the time :) I think you all know who it is

Well, with the amount of different things they say to each caller, they positively seem to be telling porkies.

But let's be reasonable here; if by "straightforward" they mean no crimes, no civil offences; no running in with the police of any kind, never go to court over anything by always turning the other cheek; never go on demos lest they turn violent or get myself recorded; never go out shirtless during hot summers; always regard Morris dancing highly; love all my neighbours including the Ukippers and their eyeful daughter; and finally go to bed at 9pm sharp, then my application is indeed "straightforward". However, I wouldn't put it completely beyond them if soi-disant "straightforward" turns out to mean "heterosexual & promiscuous" in officialese.

According to LIUK textbook, I should be able to laugh at my miserable self, which's the quintessentially British thing to do especially after five months of queuing.

You'd be lucky to get an apology but nothing more. At least now you know that they're suppose to deal with your application within 6 months. After 6 months, you'll be told that they don't know how long it'll take now.
Surely the best customer service and value for money :)
Goodluck.

SKK27, I share your frustration.

I'm getting really jittery now. The first thing I do when I wake up these days is to check my mail. Everyday, Saturdays included. If I leave before 9am, I either ring home to check or keep thinking about the possibility of something being delivered from the kafkaesque HO, and the first thing I do when I return home 9pm is to check my mail - so the circle of trepidation is complete.

Rang them a few moments ago and was told in sympathetic tones what amounts to "you only have 16 days left before it's 6 months, cheer up, not long now, and by the way stop piling on the agony".

Thought of filing a complaint as the practical thing to do about the situation but thought I should better wait till it's exactly 6 months (01/11/2014), then involve my local MP - that has helped speed up things in the past - before the formal complaint. But complain I most certainly will. Even if I get my approval inside the six months period and let them be ill-disposed towards me. I will do this for the sake of other straightforward applicants. We should all complain.

Tears of joy, shaky hands and heart beating at 300mph!

I recently bombarded the HO with questions, emails and complaints about the unfair way of dealing with my application and as they always do, they just ignored me.

I sent an email to my MP and I sent her a list of occasions where the home office gave me wrong information (aka lied), unfairly dealt with my application and epically failed to deliver a decent service compared to the 906 pounds paid.

She sent them an email on my behalf and she got back to me with this.

Please find attached a copy of the response I have received from the Home Office.

I understand that your application for Naturalisation was approved on 08 October 2014.

I hope you will be pleased with this outcome and if thee is anything else I can help with then please do not hesitate to contact my constituency office on the details below

I jumped off my seat ran around the room as if I scored the World Cup Final winning goal in the 95th minute.

Sat back down all shaky and happy ...

It had to be drama.

Just waiting for a letter now.

Language criteria met: Pearson English Proficiency Test+LIfe in the UK test
