Travelling under Tier 2 General Visa

Hello

I am in Tier 2 General Visa, I need to travel to India next month for my brother's marriage. That is for 1 week. Is that necessary to get permission letter from my Employer? Do Immigration people ask me any questions regarding my travel?? I have return ticket as well. Please advice in this.
