Tier 2 General got extended for 2 years only!

Hi,

I recently applied for change of employment application under Tier 2 General and even though the certificate of sponsorship had end date as 2nd of Nov 2017, the UKBA has given me visa for only 2 years (until 1st Jan 2017). Is this correct or a typing/printing mistake?

Also, after TOTAL 5 years in tier 2, when I will apply for my ILR, my gross salary has to be £35000? Is that correct?

How long have u been in UK under previous T2G visa ?? The current and previous leaves together total should not exceed 6 years.

IT also depends what was requested on your new COS.

Could you tell if you did a postal/in-person and online form or the regular form and what documents you had submitted as I am applying one shortly as well

Hi,

I know that total can not be more than 6 years but based on the date given in my BRP the total becomes - 5 years plus one month.
My initial tier 2 was from 20th Nov 2011 till 1st Jan 2015.
In my new COS the start date was 7th Nov 2014 till 2nd Nov 2017. Basically this is my 3 rd year in Tier 2 General.

I made in-person application. I paid the visa fee online.
Documents required -
1) COS,
2) Two photographs.
3) Print out of Visa fee payment receipt.
4) Passport,
5) Current Bio-metric permit.

Just to be on safer side, I took my bank statements of last 3 months along with my address history for last 5 years with me.
