Travel from India to UK while Passport expiring in 3 months

Hi Gurus,
I am travelling from UK to India on Nov 2014 and coming back on 1st week Jan 2015 (Via Dubai). I am Indian national and having PR But my Passport expiring at end of March 2015.
Some people telling that- to travel to UK from India, Passport must be valid at least 6 months.Is that true?
Will it be an issues while returning from India in India Immigration?

What is the alternative for this - as applying for passport renew may put me in risk as there is no time limit to get back the new passport (as Indian embassy has no guaranty to get the passport in 1 month although timeline as one month?

Anyone haveing similar experience in India immigration?

Appreciate your advice on this?
