FLR(m) visa extension - Return of original docs

Hi

Can anyone confirm if UKBA return the original documents bills/certificates when submitting them with an application (FLR M) in this case. Or maybe there is a process/method of requesting this to be done?

I will need these docs when applying for ILR..

There is no reason for them to keep your documents, so yes, they should be returned.

Thanks for the reply, do you or anyone else have experience of UKBA returning docs?

I'm just concerned as I've read other people not receiving theirs and can't afford to lose marriage cert, birth cert etc

I will be providing photocopies too and asking for a return of originals, but wondering if there was anything else I can do...

They would send birth and marriage certificates back, esp the originals.

The best would be if you are too unsure is to apply at PEO in person, even though more expensive, it is a much quicker and safer option where documents are concerned.

When my wife's FLRM application was refused a few months ago they returned all documents except the passport therefore you have nothing to worry about.

Bear in mind they won't return your passport if they refuse your application.

Documents are returned by recorded delivery (unless you provide paid postage for special delivery) if you apply by post. If you apply in person you get them back once a decision is made.
