Post by mybruce0520 » Fri Oct 10, 2014 10:30 am

Hi all,

This forum has been very helpful. Below is my experience for SET (M)

31st May – Settlement checking services
4th June - Received at Home Office
19th June - Biometrics request
20th June - Biometrics enrolled
9th October - Approval letter

BRP in the next 7 working days.

Good luck to all waiting. To God be the glory!!!

All cases are different from each other. Some cases take long and some... forever. :D

Congrats Tasha75, very happy for you.

I made my application on 16th May 2014 and so I am still waiting anxiously. Have no idea how long though...
tasha75 wrote:Phew, my wait is over. I have received my BPR today, no passports or other paperwork yet, but I could deal with that for now. It has been a very long (16+ years), stressful and expensive journey to get to this point. It still hasn't sank in, I keep thinking it's just a dream.

Here's my timeline:
Application date: 29/ 05/ 2014 (SET(O) after 6 years DLR)
Ackno letter : 03/06/ 2014
Bio Metric received: 13/06/2014
Biometric sent: 18/06/2014
BRP received: 08/10/2014 (dated 06/10/2014)

Funny thing is every morning I have been anxiously waiting for my postman but my BRP was delivered after 5pm.

I do feel like I've cheated the queue as there are people on here that have applied before me and are still waiting for their results. I wish you all good luck, hopefully your wait will be over very soon as well.

ILR application SET 0

Got a letter yesterday with application back because I missed ticking a yes or no box on section 7. Cant believe I made this little mistake. Anyway easy enough to send back in they had an Envelope already done and marked just had to re post. Atleast its been assigned to someone but it was exactly 1 month since I APPLIED and still no bio metric. Anyway make sure you check all the boxes.

Your post just made me check my application form that I have sent. (I have kept a scan of the form).

Hello GuyZ!

been reading this forum for last 8 months or so... this forum has been really helpful in keeping myself calm. I did think that I would rather b just a silent reader but Home Office really got me panicking now. I did wanted to go for same day as my case is quite straight forward which is (SET M) but listened to my uncle who said it takes about 9-10 weeks so u save about £400. I was thinking the same at that time as well but now regret that decision

I have submitted every docs that they asked for. Did not supply anything extra, cos they take it the other way round n get themselves confused! This month after seeing June applicants getting theirs approved. Ithink i have called home office every singl day for the last three weeks... but always got the same reply like STANDARD time is 6 months... u need to wait sir bla... bla... bla...

Anyway My time line is as follows
Applied- 27 May
Money Deducted - 28 May
Confirmation Received- 01 of June ( Dated 28 May )
Letter of BIO - 11 of June, Completed same Day ( Bio Dated 8 June )
After that Nothing at all... Not a single courtesy from Home Office...

I really dont know wat to do now... how to make my case b dealt quicker? my personnel manager is sitting on my head even after saying the old spouse visa rule applies to me until the decision is made... but she keep sending me letter asking for the permission docs which is 7 in last 5 months! is there anyone that have applied same as me but have not heard anything back form home office or received their good news! plz help me or give me some idea... anyone :|

Hi all!!

Our wait is finally OVER!!!! after 13 years in the UK we finally got our ILR letter of approval today, together with our documents. It seemed unreal. We applied on May 13th and received it today, 5 months, 1 day later. We used the SET (O) form, tier 2 migrant form. The BRPs are following in the next 7 days. Good luck to all and thank you for posting on this forum!

PS: I have to say, I phoned the home office in the morning before the post came and they told me that they had already sent the letter, so they are able to give you information if it is available.

Congratulations to all who received their ILR this week.

I too have some good news to share. I got a Royal mail missed delivery card on Saturday which I noticed this morning in my letter box!

I collected my parcel from Royal Mail post office and was happy to see the ILR approved. The BRP cards were delivered separately by some courier service (no idea!).

The only thing I noticed in my BRP cards that my ILR has been granted from 10Oct2014 instead from ILR application date of May14. Do I need to wait for another 1 year i.e. till Oct2015 to apply for citizenship or I can apply in May15?

Anyone has experienced the same?

Hi WIshme6,

Congratulations! I am still waiting for my BRPs. I was looking into the citizenship yesterday too. As far as I read, it says that you have to have had ILR for twelve months before you can apply for citizenship. This is the link:
https://www.gov.uk/becoming-a-british-citizen

I wish I had applied in person now! But it was too expensive for us, as we were two applying. Another year of wait ahead of us, but with the difference that we can now be here for as long as we want!

Out of curiosity how long since you posted your application please?

ILR postal applications (excluding SET(LR))

Post by Ahmed Khan » Thu Oct 16, 2014 4:49 pm

By the looks of it I think SET (M) and SET (LR) applicants from early July onwards are getting responses from HO quite frequently while SET (O) applicants are even far behind with a few exceptions

It is because SET LR has different team than SET M and perhaps SET LR is less busier than SET M I reckon.
