Thanks for your reply. I have not gone to the court yet so won't have criminal record now. Let's assume I have gone to court and got criminal record of 'attempted to travel on the Railway without having previously paid the fare and with intend to avoid payment thereof'. How will it affect my visa extension? I would wish I can at least extend my visa if I can not apply for ILR within 2 years.Malik44 wrote:if it was fixed price penalty and there is no court involved than there is no criminal conviction.
But if convicted by court, then depending on the offence you may have an unspent conviction. If you wish to, you can check for unspent convictions here.

The post is in 2011, has anything been changed now? If not, at least I will still be ok to extend my visa. Also for such case, would it be better to seek some professional help when prepare for the visa extension? I usually apply on my own before and dont have problem but I never have any criminal record beforet1s2010 wrote:Extension is not an issue. ILR is issue in that case.
Sticky on Tier-1 mentions it
