Applying For ILR Nov 2014

Post by ssachin » Tue Oct 21, 2014 2:16 pm

Hi,
I am currently on Tier 1 General with my daughter dependent on me.
I am planning to apply for ILR but I am not sure whether I need to include my daughter as well to get ILR? I was thinking that I will get my ILR and once everything is approved and the documents are received back I will apply for her British passport - is this allowed or she has get ILR with me and then only she can apply for British passport?

Thanks,

Regards,
ssachin.

How long is the visa valid for your daughter, is it going to cover your plan period?

Then I think you can go and get your ILR and then your family can apply for ILR later (before the visa expiry).

Senior members please correct me if I am wrong.

If your daughter born in UK than yes you don't need to apply ILR for her you can apply for British citizen certificate on MN1 form once you get your ILR.
Once you get your daughter British citizenship certificate than you apply British passport for her.

Hi,
Naveediiqbal: thank you for your response & help.
Malik44: she is born in UK.

So this is my understanding:

I apply independently for my ILR once this is sorted I apply for British citizen certificate on MN1 form and once this is sorted we apply for British passport for her!

Thanks,
Regards,
ssachin.

Your son will need ILR as he was born abroad. See Q3 in the 'Children' section in the citizenship FAQs
