Tier 2 general extension salary requirements

Post by DEEPAM » Thu Oct 30, 2014 10:21 am

Hi
my current visa status is tier 2 general which i applied in june 2012 as a scientific officer. i got my extension in 2015 . My code comes under 2119 and the salary requirement is 27000 and it is for 40 hours according to guidance rule? . I am earning monthly gross salary 2071.83 which includes (salary - 1966.83 + Additional pay 105 pounds ) whole to sum up as my annual salary as 24,862 for 35 hours. My additional play is travelling allowance and i get paid every month guaranteed. Am i elgible for extension ?Please help me if i take of that additional pay i will be earning only 23601.96.
I hope my query is clear. If i am elgible for extension, can i get again 3 years to stay or only 2 years.
thanks in advance.
this is first query in this board and felt it quite useful and i thought it might help me as well.
thanks and Regards

So, the salary requirement during extension is: £27,000
Your monthly gross is: £1966.83 which is JUST the salary element.
The required monthly nett is: £1,776 which equates to a monthly gross of £2,249.67

from the looks of it, it means you will need to get a salary raise. Can you get your actual figures from the HR and discuss these please?

hi thank you so much for your reply.

If i include the additional play , i think i will be fulfilling the requirement as mine is for 35 hours pro rota. but the only thing is when i applied my visa in 2012 we mentioned that the gross salary including guaranteed bonus as below
Gross salary in pound sterling including any allowances and guaranteed
bonuses:
23200.00
For each: Year
Gross allowances and guaranteed bonuses included in the above figure
in pound sterling:
1200.00
Summary of all allowances and guaranteed bonuses: Travel assistance

and now it will be

Gross salary in pound sterling including any allowances and guaranteed
bonuses:
24,861.50
For each: Year
Gross allowances and guaranteed bonuses included in the above figure
in pound sterling:
1260.00
Summary of all allowances and guaranteed bonuses: Travel assistance

When i recalculate the 27000( as this is for 40 hours according to guidance ) for 35 hours it is 23,625.00

Can you help me now whether i am fulfilling the requirement or not.

thanks

Minimum Salary Requirement for your role:-
£27000 / Year , Based on 40 hours /week

£27000 / 52 (weeks) = £519.23 / Week

£519.23 / 40 = £12.98/hour

Your situation :
£23601.5 / Year , Based on 35 hours EXCLUDING the allowance

£23601.5 / 52 (weeks) = £ 453.87

£453.87 / 38 = £12.96/hour

Finally. £12.96 * 40 * 52 = £26,9568

I Don't think you make it mate IF allowances are to be excluded. I wish some one more experienced could help.
Can't you ask your HR to increase your wages slightly more?

Also , just checked allowances are not to be included.

Salaries and allowances: Tier 2 (General)
16. We will consider basic pay (excluding overtime) plus any allowances, such as London
weighting, which would also be paid to a settled worker in similar circumstances, provided these
allowances are part of your guaranteed salary package.
17. We will not consider other benefits, such as bonus or incentive pay, travel and
subsistence (including travel to and from your home country).

Hi,
Regarding the pay matching the requirements, could i use a prospective future wage for my extension application ? I am about to become ICAEW chartered and will soon be offered a raise in salary above the requirement, but that only starts from next year (once I have finished all of my exams). Could i use this as the salary figure for my Tier 2 extension application ?
