URGENT: Main + Dependents extension application on hold

Tier 2 (General) Extension application
Applicants: Main applicant + Tier 2 Partner + Tier 2 Child
Appointment: Premium
Public Office: Croydon
Status: Application put on hold pending further inquiries.

Home Office did not disclose any further information to my immigration representative today who was supposed to collect our passports this evening.

Anyone with past experience with extensions where application was put on hold for further inquiries? Any clues why the extension application could have been put on hold?

Family is stressed at the moment as we recently bought a house & we did not see this coming. We were expecting extension application will be approved this evening & we will get biometric cards in a week or two.

Any quick pointers or past experiences pls do share. Hope our extension gets approved as we may be eligible for an ILR in just a few months from now.

Having read your previous posts the issue might be the total time you have spent in the UK under tier 2. They will.get a senior caseworker to review your case before they make a decision. That takes a bit of time to do.

I am not sure what's marked against your records in UKBA and as suggested above a senior case work might take a call. Please keep posted about the outcome. It may be helpful for others.

Thanks for the replies. Anxiously waiting for update on our extension application.

There was a systems glitch at the public office yesterday which delayed biometric verifications. Not sure if this is one of the reasons why they may not have had sufficient time to give the decision.

Hope all works out well.

Fingers crossed. Will update soon on the status as soon as I hear more from my immigration rep.

Received call from my rep yest morning that extension was approved.

Waiting for passports & biometric cards to come through. Huge sigh of relief!

No details on why the extension application was held up for a day though, not sure if delays due to systems issue at public office was the cause or it was just randomly selected for further checks.

Thanks. Got the BRP cards & Passports in the post yest. Another 3 year extension received till early 2018.

Exploring options now to see if I'll be eligible for ILR in Q1 2015.
