Tier 1 G Extn - Applying for Main applicant only not family

Hi, Due to shortage of money, I am planning to apply for extension of Tier 1 G for myself currently. To avoid risks, I am planning to apply for myself as main applicant. After successful of my application, I am planning to apply for my dependants. Please let me know is it possible ? Will UKBA ask me why r u not applying for your dependants now ? Also my visa is ending by mid of Jan 2015. Is it right time to apply for the extension? This is my second extn to have 5 years for ILR. Thanks in advance for your inputs.
