tier 4 parallel studies

Post by soma7474 » Fri Nov 07, 2014 6:02 pm

my employer shortlisted me for tier 2

i have presently completed my level 7 course of Business Management from Tier 4 College. Furthermore i was doing my MBA from University of Wales without CAS letter. Is this parallel study acceptable by Homeoffice or no......?

You can take a secondary course of study as long as it does not impact on the course of study your tier 4 visa was granted for.
It is a glib policy and is not readily policed or measured.
I am surprised the Uni has let you take the course unless they were unaware of your tier 4 status.

I assume you are talking about switching to tier 2 from tier 4.
If you have a masters degree awarded in the UK you can switch to a NQF6 role with a licensed sponsor.

But master's degree is not awarded under Tier 4 visa, its parallel studies.

Is it acceptable by Home Office?

Explain what you mean by parallel studies exactly?
Did you attend at the Uni? If the answer is yes under what method. Did you go on different days of the week to your actual course or do remote study?

i use to go 15 hours to the college which issued me the CAS and i also use to go to the University for other course. i did both the studies simultaneously and both were completed and i have completion letters as well from both institutes.

You should be ok BUT UKVI will ask a couple of questions as how you managed to gain entry to the Masters course. No doubt you have paperwork from the Uni to show this was secondary study. Include that with your tier2 application to head off the query.
