Information in regards to curtailment letter

Post by soujanyasathi » Tue Nov 11, 2014 7:40 pm

Hello,

I would require some suggestion for my friend who is on Tier 2. His contract with his employer came to an end on 8Aug and the company informed UKBA on 18Aug2014. And till today 11/11/2014 he haven't received the curtailment letter. And he made sure with the previous company that his address is right. Also he contacted twice directly to UKBA over phone and mentioned that he haven't received letter. They said he will receive it and also they said the 60 days period start from the day he receive the letter.

And now he got a new job and the company is in the process of issuing COS. And he is planning to go for a premium service but now he has a confusion whether he will be a overstayer now and does they question him anything during the appointment. If so what he need to answer them that he haven't received the letter. What would be the best way to tell them. If not shall he contact UKBA again and mail them and tell them again that he still dint receive the curtailment letter. Please suggest the best option.

Thank you

UKVI often send the curtailment letter quite late and this is not uncommon for your friend to no have received a letter till now.
He would have no problem in applying for a new tier 2 visa and if at all they ask anything, he can simply say that he has since not received any curtailment letter from UKVI

Thank you so much for your reply. So there is no need to email them before he goes to his visa appointment to show them as a proof that he informed ukba about his not receiving of letter. Or shall he leave it and straight away apply for his new tier 2.

Kindly suggest.

Thank you

Sorry to bump this thread. My situation is similar.

What was the outcome? Is it ok to assume that you have time to look for a new sponsor until you receive the date in the letter?
