Hello All,

I just got the following reply :

''Your application is currently being processed with a view to establishing
whether it meets the statutory conditions for the granting of
naturalisation, such as good character and lawful residence, and will be
submitted to the Minister for decision as expeditiously as possible.

It is recognised that all applicants for citizenship would wish to have a
decision on their application without delay''

I recieved the 1st acknowledgement around Oct 15th, and have not received the 2nd letter yet and for that reason i contacted them, I feel here that i am being impatient. I am hoping to get a positive reply as i asked them whether my second letter has been sent out yet or no and once the 2nd letter is sent out whats the timeframe of final decision rougly

Can anyone please explain to me what is the meaning of the reply i received from them.

Thanks
Fayzal

hi pal i have also applied on the basis of irish spouse visa however i have not recieved the 2nd letter of acknowledgement yet. I emailed info@justice.ie as well and they sent a reply to me that they acknowledge receipt of my email. I am hoping to hear back soon may be today or tomorrow hopefully. You can try ringing them in the morning between 10:30 a.m to 12:30 a.m if you like. The question is I have not recieved the 2nd letter by post yet and the reply they sent to me I dont get it. does that mean that I have gone/passed through the 2nd stage already? Anyone here with knowledge or Information please guide.

Thanks
F

fayzal - you are very recent applicant and defo you will get the 2nd ack by end of this week and in worst case mid of next week. thats a DEFO 1 month difference between 1st ack and 2nd ack (in case no further docs needed).. then 2 or months to wait for approval (like status change).. you are blowing in a broken cup as you are still before 2nd ack stage to worry.. all worry starts after you get the 2nd ack because they can delay you by then as much as they fancy

Fayzal not everyone receive the second stage letter and still have the approval letter. Just relax man and it will be fine , forget about it and have a life then an approval will come by post.

seems like you're not too far.. what i would like to hear from someone is whats the meaning of the reply that they sent to me. does that mean that my application has passed or gone through the 2nd stage already? by that i mean the 2nd acknowledgement letter which by the way i have not recieved uptill now. I know i got my first letter on the 15th of Oct and its too early but still just wondering what does that email mean. cheers

thats the same answer for anybody in 1ack or 2nack. as I told you, if you do not receive your 2nd ack this week (or worst case mid next week) then come and demand money from me :) its always a month between acks (unless further docs needed)..

@All, I rang the citizenship number few minutes ago and the lady I spoke with said my application is in progress as they are still waiting for Garda report and cannot tell how long that would take. I said to her I rang about 4weeks ago and I was told the same thing, seriously I don't know what else to believe as I had the impression Garda report are now quick and within a month due to better services in that area and less citizenship application, this information was from an article published about 6weeks ago.
My timeline
Applied on the 17th of June
1st Ack: 28th of June + further documents requested
2nd ACK: 28th of July
GNIB renewed and sent to them: 14th of October
Ack received for GNIB renewal: 16th of Oct.
Approval: still waiting for Garda report.
Ceremony: Still waiting
Basis of application: Stamp4EUFAM

@Kunsky
I have been told this story many times over the phone.. They are still waiting for the garda report.... I think they don`t have answers... That is the reason i don`t bother their answers anymore... I personally think the person who is answering your call at the other end doesn`t know anything about your application... Thats where the transparency issue comes in... The process isn`t transparent to the applicant.... Best of luck

there is something wrong with 4eufam applications! they are taking too long to process.

I called the garda vetting and they confirmed it takes 3 weeks, and when someones records is full of sh!te it takes 4 weeks.

Im sure inis do not even push any letters to garda vetting, or if they receive them, they do not process them.. maybe put them in fireplace to warm themselves up..

Im am annoyed now, and I cant catch the line or i would have said that in their faces

LETS ACT NOW! I told ye let us write a class action letter to the minister about how our applications are taking aaaages while a normal person would sort the application with all reports within 1 month.. its NO rocket science

ok - we are 3 now. Any more joiners?

for the time being, I just contacted my local TD and asked him to talk in person to Fitzgerald to sort the issue of transparency and unneeded delays. I talked on behalf of us as group, not on personal level to give a bigger impression..

issue need to be addressed for the sake of us and future applicants

I also knew mate about ur post and I am aware of it
Whom to hold on responsible at this time?
Is it Garda r Inis?
Whom to trust?
Is it watchdog revelation about the Garda cold attitude
R inis who depend on Garda vetting?
Hope I am clear mate
Only we the applicants held in between Like a trap!

i suppose the garda vetting system changed a lot lately (to the better).. it used to take up to 2 years for vetting to come back to you.. now and while they are cold, it takes 4 weeks.. im sure its inis who do not bother to send a letter to vetting or even open a letter from vetting.. they dont seem to do much really!

can you share the watchdog link pls?
