I have also seen people calling them for update only to find out that they were sent a letter asking for more info which they never received. Nothing to lose even if they say its under consideration.

Call the HO and use the "less than 6 months" option. Ask them to check the progress of your naturalization application. Works for me.@jack-jack/theghid/akhurshid.
I called them 2days ago and the lady I spoke with wasnt keen to take my reference number to check on my application status, rather she was insisting to know if my application was past 6months or less and when I said less she transferred me to the less than 6months line. The asked if I have received my acknowledgement letter and when I said yes. they said that means its in progress and I should contact them if I havent received any news afer 6months...awesome innit....Just what i wanted to hear...
i guess it depends on whom you speak with at the HO, I will give them a call today to see if I will get any luck. But I have to keep the smiling face as if everything is alright....shouldnt I?;)
Or does anyone have any tips to scale the huddle of at least getting the HO to check on your status?
