Naturalization and Driving Offences (Good Character)

Post by comcomu » Sun Nov 16, 2014 5:50 pm

Hi All,

Just a quick question/clarification.

i had a driving ban in 2009 due to totting up. (3 point for speeding + 3 point for speeding + 6 point for driving without insurance) = 6 month driving ban + (TT99) in 2009. I had another driving ban in 2011 due to totting up again. (6 point for driving without insurance. although I had a comprehensive insurance in my name but due to the friend's car not insured + 3 point for speeding + 3 point for speeding) = 6 month ban + fine + TT99 on licence in 2011. I was also stopped and fine by police in 2009 for driving without road tax which i paid instantly. I have been clean like whistle since 2012 with not even a parking ticket since.

I am now due to apply for naturalization and just wondering if I need to declare the speeding points/offences that were not giving in court as they were fines/point given by the police which I paid on time and its only one TT99 showing on my licence now cos all the rest had dropped off. Do I stand a chance?

Thanks in advance.

Mate, that's a lot of points . I'm not judging, but driving without insurance is a serious deal. Also, I'm sure I read somewhere that it has a negative impact on your application - especially if it hasn't been 5 years.
