Fiance Visa help

My fiance is Brazilian, and is currently applying for a Fiance Settlement visa
I do not have a passport. He is sending a certified full birth certificate with parents details, as well as the original short birth certificate my parents got when I was born - will this be enough to prove I am a British citizen?

The other supporting documents I am confident with but the above is what I am concerned about. Please can someone advise as to whether what I have sent him will be enough?

When were you born?

Born in London, to British parents, who in turn were from British parents.

And I cannot apply for a passport now as he has my full birth certificate and the origional. Argh

It would have been better to use a British passport , but you may be fortunate to succeed on that one, the ECO will be surprised why there is no passport and this could delay thing.

Passport provide identification as well as confirmation of citizenship.

Birth Certificates simply do not do them.

Do you meet the financial requirement?

I do, I am a police officer and I have printed out payslips for 6 months and a P60 and had them stamped. I am going to the bank tomorrow to get statements printed and stamped as I have been told they dont accept online bank statement prints.

My fiance is going to the British embassy for advise regarding the passport problem. Having a passport has not interested me until now! And I cannot apply for one as he has my birth certificate.

DO you suggest sending my parents birth certificates as well?

Also, in relation to employment, will the pay slips and P60 be enough? Police do not get given contracts of employment as we are technically not employees but constables.

Yeah he was in the UK for 7 years previously on a EEA National family member visa. The visa ran out this month and he had to return.

Previous to this we were living together and planning our wedding etc.

If that's true doesn't he have automatic PR after five years on EEA Permit? I'm not sure, prompting others for input!

No because his sponsor refused to sponsor him further if that makes sense?

Basically his mothers marriage to her portugues husband broke down and he had to leave the family home due to domestic violence.
