Help! Child's first passport supporting documents

Post by mamabibi » Sat Nov 22, 2014 5:43 pm

Hi,

I went to the post office to send off the application form for my daughters first child passport. I went with supporting documents such as my passport wit ILR biometric, marriage certificate, child's birth certificate.

I put these supporting documents through to send it with the application, but the lady I met said i do not need to send them. So she only sent the application with form, citizenship registration certificate, passport photograph and grand parents details.

I am worried as there was a lot of emphasis on supporting documents.

How will they know my status in the UK without these details, or how will they verify parents marriage date?

Is this normal or should I be worried?

Thank you in advance for your response.

You can check the FAQ for the required documents.

If your child is British (as she received a Registration Certificate), why would your status affect her? She is British regardless of her parents immigration/marital status.
Check the FAQ before posting!
Citizenship (adults, children, passport)
EEA (EEA FP, RC, PR, Surinder Singh)

Thank you Jambo for your reply!!

I didn't realise there was a FAQ section. That really does help.

Have a nice day.

Hi mamabibi, Jambo... I can't find anything related to supporting documents for child's first UK passport? Can you help please? I was ILR when my child was born in the UK last year. What are the supporting documents I need to include in the application from the following lists?

(1) Application form
(2) 2 x child passport photos (need countersigning or not?)
(3) Child Birth Certificate
(4) Child's mother or father passport with ILR Biometric
(5) anything else?

I don't have the citizenship registration certificate for my child.

Thank you very much.
