Hey everyone just speaking on behalf of my mother who applied for citizenship 9 months ago and got asked to sudmite further doccuments about how many times she left the country and how long did she stay if more the 6weeks and stuff and also if her marital status has changed so she sent them all that then they sent her letter saying they recived everything and will be in touch with her in due course about minster decision that was back in septamber so then she didn't hear anything since then so this morning she rang them and told them the story and a lady said they will be in touch with her in 2weeks time so what do u think she meant by that ? Approval or refusal ? Do think they still will be sending out approval in 2weeks time ? Also he citezinship is based on 5 years recidency

Hello Friends, I applied last December (2013) and got approval last week. As for every one, I had a "processing" phobia. Finally it got approved. It took me 11 months to get it approved though I dont have even a single traffic offence or conviction. It depends on case by case it seems!

I believe that they will be asking the criminal check report from the country we belong to. If it is delayed, then our application too! Actually I wish that they have to open a website with the status of our application for tracking.

can we travel once we have submited the GNIB card. We will need to travel for the first 2 weeks in january, what documents would we need to bring to prove that we are accepted for citizenship? the ceremony is usually the 3rd week in january right? when they send the invitation letters do we have to confirm that we are attending the ceremony beforehand or just arrive on the day?

Hi guys i was expecting a approval letter today, but shockingly gletter saying that have adverse immigration history with uk and i need to clarify this with them,
I applied for visit visa to uk in 2012 but i was refused on the base that i was working too long at the same position in my work, and they doubted that i will not come back to ireland, and only right to appeal they gave me was on facial grounds, so i didnt appeal or anything and moved on.

so guys have any of you been on the same boat? Any suggestions will be welcomed

approval, see below (personal details removed):

man - they are all lying about it and blaming the garda vetting reports, although all these reports are actually done within max 4 weeks unless you are a serial killer.. and most of them are done in 2/3 weeks, yet INIS are cheeky enough to reply to the minister with the below
=====================================================================================
bla bla bla

The granting of Irish citizenship through naturalisation is a privilege and
an honour which confers certain rights and entitlements not only within the
State but also at European Union level and it is important that appropriate
procedures are in place to preserve the integrity of the process. While
most cases are now generally processed within six months, the nature of the
naturalisation process is such that, for a broad range of reasons, some
cases will take longer than others to process. In some instances,
completing the necessary checks can take a considerable period of time.

Delays in the processing of Long Term Residency applications are due in the
main to delays in receiving Pulse Reports from An Garda Siochana. Some come
through very quickly, whilst others can take 4-5 months. It should be noted
that the process relating to Long Term Residency applications differs to
that of Citizenship.

In relation to the issue of correspondence; Please be advised that all
email correspondence received in our Long Term Residence Unit is generally
dealt with on a daily basis. There is, at present, a backlog of written
correspondence waiting to be dealt with. If the persons concerned have
submitted written correspondence to that Unit, they can be assured that it
will be responded to as soon as possible. Any of your constituents that are
unhappy with the service from the Long Term Residence Unit, in any regard,
they are free to contact that Unit directly or through the INIS Customer
Service process, via email at INISCustomerservices@justice.ie.

We trust this is of assistance.

1- at what stage they discovered (mailed you) that? 1ac/2nd ack or after?
2- timeline and stamp type
3- did they discover it by you sending copies of your passport to them? if so, you must be joking by doing that!!!

nice one - now your only bet is on honesty - so answer them exactly what the refusal reason was (and reference or number or line what they have sent to you and if you have copy of that refusal letter, include it)

and write in cover letter that i wanted to visit and nothing wrong done on my side, but they felt that i may not come back, just based on their measures but not based on any fact, so I accepted the refusal and never bothered to appeal as it was only for a weekend shopping in england and talking a photo next to their *lovely* red box they call phonebox
