man - they are all lying about it and blaming the garda vetting reports, although all these reports are actually done within max 4 weeks unless you are a serial killer.. and most of them are done in 2/3 weeks, yet INIS are cheeky enough to reply to the minister with the below

The granting of Irish citizenship through naturalisation is a privilege and
an honour which confers certain rights and entitlements not only within the
State but also at European Union level and it is important that appropriate
procedures are in place to preserve the integrity of the process. While
most cases are now generally processed within six months, the nature of the
naturalisation process is such that, for a broad range of reasons, some
cases will take longer than others to process. In some instances,
completing the necessary checks can take a considerable period of time.
Delays in the processing of Long Term Residency applications are due in the
main to delays in receiving Pulse Reports from An Garda Siochana. Some come
through very quickly, whilst others can take 4-5 months. It should be noted
that the process relating to Long Term Residency applications differs to
that of Citizenship.
In relation to the issue of correspondence; Please be advised that all
email correspondence received in our Long Term Residence Unit is generally
dealt with on a daily basis. There is, at present, a backlog of written
correspondence waiting to be dealt with. If the persons concerned have
submitted written correspondence to that Unit, they can be assured that it
will be responded to as soon as possible. Any of your constituents that are
unhappy with the service from the Long Term Residence Unit, in any regard,
they are free to contact that Unit directly or through the INIS Customer
Service process, via email at
INISCustomerservices@justice.ie.
We trust this is of assistance.
