It seems that this waiting for months claimed because of check is ...

Someone applied in Oct (5yr + ILR postal), received by HO on 20 Oct. Fee debited 3 Nov. Date of Ack 4 Nov. Date approval received 22 Nov. (usually it take around 7 days for the letter to be received. So HO decided about a case in less than 2 weeks (10 working days).

Another example. (10 years + 1 year ILR) received on 21 Oct by HO. Fee debited on 5 Nov. Date of approval 14 Nov. So less than 7 working days.

Another example: family of 2 (tier 1 + 1 Yr ILR). fee debited 24/10- date of approval letter 14/11 (less than 3 weeks)

Another example (10 years + 11 months ILR + discretion) . fee debited 27/10 approval letter 14/11. (less than 3 weeks)

Another example: Tier 1 + ILR (Had 2 FPNs, one of them in the last 12 months (fee debited 14 /10 approval letter 13/11 (less than 4 weeks)

Another example Tier 1 + ILR - fee debited 30/10 - letter of approval 15 Nov (10 working days)

And much more.
Don't you think something is wrong? This waiting kills

I totally agree with with you Mah, don't know how these idiots work.

I have requested change of address in August, may be this has delayed the decision on my application as HO may want to carry out some detailed checks.

hi.i agree %110 with u,but remember the ppl who get more waiting than others are usually from Middle east and Pakistan and the ppl who get super fast response are from commonwealth area...theres rummer all over the internet which saying EU member kept from dec 2013 even for the election result next may,but still cant figure it the hold up for us from middle east and Pakistan...anyway whatever is the reason of hold up for EU members applicants and us isnt acceptable, the other thing got my attention here in this forum was seeing in 2 separate cases 2 applicants after sending letter to ukvi and demand the explaining of why they kept over 6 and even 8 months and not got any result, response or explaining letter during all this months, then after that the greatness ukvi decide to answer to them, the answer is so funny at the same time of being sad, they told this guys we are waiting for the change of policy which effect ur application and outcome but we try to give u the answer asap by doing our best...lollllll....the sad thing is we paid the same amount as everyone else under the same policy which we suppose to get the same treatment as everyone else ,ok we dindnt got the same treatment which isnt fair at all, despite that again we put up with it,but come on ppl now even we gone get effected by change of policy???????????the policy which we had no idea about it what so ever at all,we decide to apply under the policy which seemed to us we have a chance of getting approval under it,if we knew theres another policy gone come, either first we would wait until it comes to force or would research about it enough to make sure we dont pay £1200 for application, liuk exam and b1 test fees plus the the cost of travel and fuel to get to another town to go to test center simply bcz there was no any place in our area of living...if they want to take the money they should just tell us , i personally ok with it and i feel it went to the same place of which my tax went from 8 years ago till now...but playing sneaky game and changing a policy after application simply doesnt seems fair in any right and democratic place and for sure not in HM UNITED KINGDOM which is famous for being fair with democracy ...my opinion is all of write a letter and email address to ukvi and simply ask for explanation of why they keeping us for the change of policy which shouldnt effect us as we didnt applied under that policy and did our application under current policy, like before bcz of some change of policy they used to publish it few months before forcing it,then ppl would decide to do theyre apply or not..i dont think we are different than others when it comes to change of policy.they shouldve tell us few months before, then we knew to apply or wait or even not to apply at all....my friend 1 palm of hand doesnt produce any sound by itself unless other hand palm tap on it,basically i mean until we dont ask the same question at the same time from them we gone be hold up like kidnapped person for ransom,in our case our ransom is the agreement between big guys in high place which theyre change of policy is our release and end up this unfair waiting..some of us may get approve and some of not so much lucky as them and gone get refuse,,,then lets demand the answer why change of policy nowwwwwwwww....sorry i wrote a lot.but i had to say what was nec....tnx

But many people from the middle east have got their approval in recent weeks. So there is not the case of waiting for new policy.

Hello,

I have been waiting since July 8th so more than 4 months are gone.

I am EU and really cannot understand why it takes so long time! I see that many others who applied later than me have got their approval letters.

Does anyone know what kind of checks they do? For example me- I am teacher and with clear DBS (CRB in past).
6 years or official residency (7 years all together and mentioned in support letter), no Resident card as it's not mandatory.
I read it can make delays if no Resident card but still... too long.

Would be great if HO people could give the response of my concerns and many others as well.

So.. what they check 4+ months??

many thanks

By many got approval recently as u say I don't think be a satisfying compare the number of applicant who's waiying..may they gave 3 or 4 out of 10!!!do u think it's fair compare to usual routine which should be at least 9 out of 10 in period of 6 months?...I'm not saying they don't give at all but the thing the say about %95 in 6 months time frame didnt applied to some of us .if u check the forum and research about u can see the highest percentage at this time seems %40 to %50 in 6 months time frame..I knw at least 10 applicant waiting almost a year and yet noting..I maybe wrong but I'm hearing it from so many people .its not something I came up,it's some thing I hear about and a rounds,it's whats someone solicitor told that person, which more than %50 of his client even waiting even from late last year and early this year ,basically he counts the client who passed the 6 months time frame and not even the ones whos waiting for 5.5 months...I dont knw what to think about this unjustified treatment anymore and believe me always try to distract my self from it,but sometime it hunt me and when I check around and see people waiting from dec 2013 make me so upset and just tell to myself,why???....anyway good luck to u all and may the good karma be on ur side...

I thing everyone should be treat equal way. At least the applications should be checked by the date, for example if they received application in July it should be check before application from August or September no matter from where you come from. We should also have a possibility to check online on what progress stage is our application. I also sent my documents which ever I had now I am nobody because I don't have any nationality evidence. I need this decision so badly no mater what will be in this letter.

Hi

There seems to be a number of EEA applications pending since April 2014 (looking at forums), in particular those without residence card (ie those who applied proving they were exercising treaty rights in the UK but who did not apply for the PR prior to applying for Citizenship)...
Is this your case justwit and chrisonzen, or did you apply with a Residence card?

Yes, I'm on the same boat . I'm also EU member and applied on 30-07-14 and still waiting. Other nationalities are being approved for as short as 6 weeks and looks like from the other topics that HO is being holding the EU applications for very long time. I don't get it...
People from April even are still waiting.
What is going on???

Same here, applied on the 18th of July and still waiting too. Been in the UK working full time since 1992 and married to BC, Don't have PR card but used P60's etc. to prove my PR status Just seen on the BBC one, The One Show, a home office spokesman advising that David Cameron will make an announcement before Christmas on regards to EU migration and how to bring the figures down.
Surely they can't change the rules after our applications were made and taking our money ??

Yes, this is exactly my case. I applied right after I filled up my 5 years because I'm married to a BC and I'm not obligated to apply for PR as we get it automatically by the law.
It looks like there is some issues with that and I don't understand it.
Cheers

Thank you all for your feedback, it is very useful as we can try and put the pieces of the puzzle together!

Looking at the below report, it would appear that a stop has been put on to EEA applications on purpose, as the latest figures were released in March 2014, and the EEA applications (without PR) from April 2014 onwards appear to be on hold...
http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/dcp171778_375307.pdf

There is a clear political drive on this matter:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politic ... arget.html

Further figures are due to be released this thursday so let's see whether the situation could unblock or take a turn in the next few days...

What I still don't understand is how they can justify to hold up our applications as we applied on the basis of certain rules and criterias (which were met as most of us have been in the UK well over 10 / 15 years!) and we all paid the fee! How could they turn around now and say that the rules are changing retroactively? And if they don't intend to do that, then why are they holding up applications ? Is it to wait until after year end for statistical purposes?

So just one person and in very short period of time! I have a feeling that I need to wait whole 6 month for any results and after this time I will try to contact with HO. But I'm not expecting that will happen before that 6 months period!! :(

Think about a year wait at least..I knw the person who's wxiting from early December 2013.I knw they keep me for a year more but no less...if they wanted to sort us out they would under 4 months..if that time passed don't hold up ur breath for under 6 months...that's a way the deal with people in 2014
