Does IVA effect on UK citizenship

Post by bonga » Fri Nov 28, 2014 12:08 pm

Hi,
I am on ILR and recently ave faced difficulty to manage my financial condition as such, I am considering to take IVA(Individual voluntary arrangements) by a Charity organisation.

I am wondering is that will effect on my Citizenship application / Passport application ?
Please share if any one having IVA before and applied for Citizenship and succeeded, then that will be really appreciated.

Regards.

IVA is a form of insolvency, just one below bankruptcy.

I would suggest you apply for citizenship and get approval before you decide to enter into an IVA, which is recorded on the insolvency register.

Try and do a debt management plan for now through the charity until you can apply for citizenship.
