Today on my lunch break I called the home office to find out if they received the request and the lady I spoke to advised me that my application is still being considered. But she confirmed that my supporting documents had been posted back to me 2 days ago (25/11/14).
I then went home (still on my lunch break) and found an envelope with my documents in it. I didn't bother reading the accompanying Home Office letter because I thought it would just say "find enclosed your supporting documents".
I just reached home now and read the letter properly, it was actually an approval letter. I'm over the moon. That means my application took under a month to process. (just 3 working days from acknowledgment to approval). I was really worried about my application especially because I have a CCJ (still on my credit file) and a driving conviction (spent). However, I declared both and wrote a cover letter explaining why I had the CCJ. I have also served for a few year in the Territorial Army, I think that might have helped my cause too.
Either way, good luck to everyone still waiting. May you all receive good news before Xmas.
Very nice beautiful words. Congradualtions. Keep this spirit and you will succeed in everything you want!I'm so happy, literally crying tears of joy every time I think about this. I want to thank MY God for EVERYTHING! And my beautiful mother for hand holding me throughout this entire process,
Thank you very much! I wish you luck on your pending application, hopefully it arrives very very soon!!!!!!Maxwell wrote:Very nice beautiful words. Congradualtions. A big Congrats to you.. ..have you heard from your council yet regarding the ceremony?
I have only received approval letter from HO. but none yet from council, letter from HO. said I should call a certain number 3 weeks from the date on the letter, i did and I was told to wait for it, it might be on its way...im waiting, finger crossed, i,ll received it before wed.5th dec...I wld like to get this over with asap including the passport...Im really impressed with the speed and efficiency of those guys at the HO. To all those waiting for approval and other responses from the HO, I wish you guys all the best..
Thanks schwim, I will sort it out today. Guess I'd be the scapegoat of Oct 2014 as almost all others have got approval.schwim wrote:Here is a sorted version of the spreadsheet if someone wants to take over updating the timelines. The approved persons are at the top thus it makes it easier to create a spreadsheet with the persons waiting. I hope someone finds this useful. Cheers
