urgent help spouse visa financial req

I need to apply for my wife's visa urgently and am confused about the financial/maintenance req. My circumstances are as follows:

Moved to new employer in nov 2014 with gross salary of £32300.

Salary from previous employer was £40000 for the previous 12 months.

No savings as I had to send money back home and my account balance dropped to about £500 last month.

Will I be able to meet the financial/maintenance requirement on this basis or do I definitely need to show a certain amount of savings?

Yes,you will,infact you'll be fine if you're overdrawn. As you've moved to a new job,you'll be relying on cat B of financial requirement.
That is your payment in the last 12 months. You meet the 2 requirements under cat B if income you've stated are correct and you can apply anytime you want.

Many thanks for your reply. I am on a tier 2 general visa so I'm assuming I'm eligible to apply? Or do I need to have ilr status before my wife can apply for spouse visa?

That's a different requirement if you're not on ILR or British citizen. You might need to check that up,but I don't think you'll have to meet financial requirement for that.
