I have recently received a letter from the older lives cases unit asking for my details and identity documents. Can someone tell me if it is a good thing. I have been in the uk 12 years now.

ah its very urgent to reply them
its not a trick this is how they are working on legacy cases,
his case is in legacy and must be dealing in manchester or liverpool older live case unit
its very good sign,i know too many people who get status after this letter
send them all the papers which they required

Thank you so much for replying. I called them yesterday and sent an email with the details they required. My dob address and name. I don't have any documents to sent them as I have sent all of them in previous applications. I will just have to sent passport sized picture. I have gone through a similar thing before in 2011 when they requested the same info and then never heard from them. I was in the process of making a fresh application so I am wondering if I should hold that and wait for this to be resolved.

I wanted to request for permission to work whilst i wait for the decision. do you think it's a good idea or should I just provide what they are asking for?

yea u can ask them work permission i asked them in august and they grant me work permission last week

i wrote them a letter asked for work permission,i also enclosed my ARC CARD and IS96 reporting letter photo copy to show my id
i received work permission letter within 2 mnths

Can you kindly share your experience..I have recently recieved letter from OLCU liverpool to submit 4 photos of each family member. And on the letter it says, a review of your case will take place after receiving photos...can someone assist me, if its a normal thing....bit worried. Thanks

they asked only for photographs from u ,thats i really good news,u brp is on its way trust me

i know too many people under legacy who got questionnaire and photo requested,but no one of them was called to liverpool.i suspect u have nothing pending with them

I recived a letter of the same decription as rajaraja.i sent them photos.my case is also not before 2007.
Can u please tell me what will come after this letter and approx how many days does it take.

its not necessary to get questionnaire if u dont fall under legacy
my asylum took 2.5 years for initial rely,i submit my asylum application in feb 2012,got questionnaire and photo request in july 2014 and got asylum refusal in sep 2014

We had the same letter...last few week or so came across few people who too had the same letter and review taking place after receiving these photos. Few of the people after submitting photos had brp request after few weeks and few of them after 4-5 months. But theres nothing like interview or further info. Just photo request. And photos are requested from those who even have been here 3-4 years. I personally feel NAM cases too are being considered because f their family life...like children etc
