Passport validity when entering the UK

I am due to travel to my home country for a couple of weeks for Christmas.
By the time I get back in January, my passport will only be valid for about three months.
Will I be able to re-enter the UK or do I need to get it renewed before I travel?

Yes you can enter even UK that should not be a problem, as I myself once came back from vacation from India with 1 week for expiry of my passport.
So verily, with every difficulty, there is relief.
