Child dependent VISA

Post by sgadipat » Thu Dec 11, 2014 9:54 pm

Hi All,

My Son is born and raised in India. I want to apply a dependant VISA for him in India and bring him here. Can any one please clarify what the financial requirements are, if any?
Do I need to show any funds in my bank account for 90 days?

Regards
Sri

I know that you have ILR. But what is your wife's current status?

If she has leave to remain as a PBS dependant, then your son may also join you as a PBS dependant.

Thanks Vinny, I went through the documentation and I understand that I need to maintain £630 for last 90 days. I could not unfortunately maintain the balance, it was below £630 for few days in last 2 months. But I have a steady job from last 6 years and paid monthly.

Do I have any options to bypass the maintenance requirement?

I think that you should wait until you meet the requirements.

Hi Vinni,

Can I use my wife's bank statements together with mine to show the maintenance funds?

I think so.

Can you have multiple currencies in one account?

Hi Vinni,

Can you confirm if the 90 balance maintenance is "Average balance over 90 day period" or do we need to maintain a minimum balance for 90 day period?

Because Average balance over certain period is calculated differently as explained below

I believe the funds has to be in his account, and he must have had ownership of it over the 90 days period.
