After BC, Can we still use ILR or PR

hi Guys,

Just curious, can we still use ILR or PR to enter UK after getting British Passport ?
In an emergency, like passport lost or anything .

Between the time I was officially naturalised and applying for British passport I have traveled several times on my old passport and ILR. I made the effort and asked border officials on two occasions about how long can I use my ILR for and I was told forever.
I am sometimes wrong.
