UK born child - British passport

Post by sureshaverineni » Sun Dec 21, 2014 1:29 pm

Hi Guys,

My son is born in UK at that time both the parents are in Tier-1 visa so we didn't apply for his British passport.

We sent him to India with Indian passport just last week we brought him back with visitor visa to UK. Now we both are having ILR.

I am planning to apply for his British passport.

1) what's the difference between the kids born in India and kids born in UK in terms of applying for their British passport?

2) My son is born in UK, do I still need to apply for naturalization through MN1 before applying for his British passport?

please clarify.

Thanks
Suresh

1. No difference.
2. Yes.

Thanks Vinny.

As my son has just arrived in UK(can't get hold of teachers or doctors). My both friends are British citizens and IT professionals.

They are happy to provide reference for MN1 will that be OK for my child.

Thanks Vinny.

One last question :

My son is on Visitor visa now, hope this won't be a problem to apply for his Registration.
Does he need to be with ILR dependent before applying for Registration?
