Who is a family member of an EEA national

My wife and I have 3 young children that are British citizens. My wife have a UK ILR and I have LTR. We are all planning to travel to France and other Europeans destinations on holiday. The question is does my wife and I qualifies as member of a EEA nationals for the purpose of Schengen visa as we are not depending on our children? Please help out if you know. Thanks

If you and your wife are not visa free nationals of those EU destinations where you intend to fly then you both will have to apply schengen visa before travelling.
