Tier 2 General Extension Application question

Hi

I am applying for an extension to my tier 2 general VISA which was issued from 01/05/2013 to 30/4/2015 .
I am applying online using the "extend" link on the UKVI page
https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/extend-your-visa

I have the following question :

One of the questions in the form is :

"What type of residence permit or visa do you have?"
For answering this question I cannot find the option mentioned on my VISA.

My VISA says the type "Tier 2 (general ) migrant" but this option is not available in the dropdown for the above question.

The closest option I have is Tier 2 (General) leave to remain.

My question is : is "Tier 2 (general ) migrant" and "Tier 2 (General) leave to remain" the same ?
Am I missing something ?

Another question , if my VISA is expiring on 30/4/2015 when can I apply for the extension ? I have heard I cannot apply before 3 years but cant find it written anywhere on the gov.uk website . Could some experienced people please guide me ?

Yes, it should be Tier 2 (Gen) Leave to Remain.

You can apply anytime you want provided its within 3 months from the date the new CoS is assigned.

The first one seems to be taking me to the "Beta" site which has a nice looking page but lacks more information about filling up the form.

The second one also seems to have exactly the same form but with more information about the fields. Also the second one is the only one which allows me to fill the details of a dependent application for my wife as well..

Weird UK V & I seems to be adding to the confusion by having separate forms..

Wonder if anyone else had this experience or has comment on it ?
