UK born with ILR parents, alternative to British Passport?

Asking this on behalf of a friend.

Both parents have ILR, baby is not born yet. Mother is malaysian national, Malaysia does not allow dual citizenship. Father has a United Nations passport. The baby will be born in the UK.

1. Since parents have ILR I believe the baby will be british by birth and can apply straight for a British Passport - correct?

2. The baby can also inherit Malaysian citizenship from mother in which case she cannot apply for British Passport because Malaysia does not allow dual citizenship. What alternatives are there for the baby to stay in the UK (and be able to travel)?

3. If the baby take Malaysian citizenship now and in future they all move out of UK can the baby apply for UK citizenship later or come back to the UK?
