What happens in the scenario where the sponsor of a spouse on a dependant visa loses their job? How long is the duration they are allowed to find another paying job, if any?

You need to meet the same requirements for their second FLR(m) using any of the usual categories. Remember, income requirements can be met on the renewal using both of your incomes. e.g. Category A - six months at £18600 pa.

Well assuming the sponsor will be relying on cat A or B then they have to ensure they are earning the magic number within 6 months at least of the visa expiring. The applicant's income can also count.
