ILR Contractor

Post by bhattj » Thu Oct 23, 2014 2:27 pm

Hi,

I am due to apply for ILR in Feb 2015. I started contracting from Oct 2013 and formed a new Limited Company. I pay myself minimum salary and rest as dividends. My company's accounting year end is Oct 2014. For earnings do I need to provide HMRC returns or any Corporation Tax, or would payslip and dividend vouchers suffice? My self assessment for FInancial Year 2014-15 would be due in Jan 2016 so cannot provide that and self assessment for 2013-2014 will fall outside the 12 month window. Please let me know.

Thanks
Jaydeep

- Accountant letter
- payslips
- dividend vouchers (showing Gross and Net dividends). Remember to use Gross Dividends after paying Corp tax for earning points calculations.
- Company Incorporation, VAT and PAYE registration copies.
- client contracts.
- Invoices and remittance advises for period you are claiming
- Company insurance copies

You don't need to submit any self assessment returns.

If you are applying in Feb 2015 and your year end is Oct 2014, you should submit your accounts and corporation tax returns for the year ended Oct 2014 and personal tax return for the year ended 5th April 2014. You also need to attch your statement of earnings from your accountant as well as salary and dividend vouchers for the last 6 months running up to Feb 2015

Hi,

I am due to submit my ilr application next month. Do I need to show 12 months payslips? I take minimum salary but has been irregular over last 10 months. Can I show it together and split the dividend element? For example in April 14 withdrawal of £3000 and may14 of £4000, can I show these as salary and rest of the months as dividend? Can I just show dividends for claiming points for ilr or do I need to show salary?

Thanks
Jaydeep

Hi,

I have payslip date different to when the money was credited in my Bank (please see below). The amounts match. Would that be accepted? I asked my accountant but he said he cannot generate variable payslip dates. Please advise. Thanks
