Spouse visa application from Australia

Post by markhoward » Tue Sep 11, 2007 11:25 am

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this post.

I am British, my fiance Australian. We are marrying in New Zealand on 17th November. From there we will go together into Australia for 3 months and apply for her spouse visa to come back to the UK.

A couple of questions... When we send the application form in to the British consulate in Canberra should we put the evidence folder in with the application form? Do you think we are likely to be called in for face to face interviews?

Any other points that we should really know about?

Thanks again... Mark

Hi Mark

Yes, all evidence will need to be presented with the application form. As this will comprise very important documents, and many may be originals, then suggest you hand deliver or use courier as you do not want to risk any loss of them.
As to whether you are called for interview, this is purely a wait and see thing - it seems that if your applictation is straightforward an interview will not normally be required. However, be ready for this just in case.
We recently submitted our application in Pakistan and, although in a different country, the procedure seems to be the same the world over.
