Spanish Citizenship by residence

Post by Bloody-Fox » Tue Jan 13, 2015 3:59 pm

Hi, out of interest:

I (German national) have been living in Spain with my Brazilian wife for 2.5 years until August 2013. I have been exercising treaty rights in Gibraltar during the whole time. We are now living in Ireland since September 2013.

Since Brazilian nationals may apply for Spanish citizenship after 2 years of legal residence, would the 2.5 years we have already lived there count towards that and she could apply for citizenship right away if we were to return to Spain in the near future? (Given the documentary evidence will be provided, obviously)

Thanks in advance
